UNKNOWN LANDSCAPES

The experience of painting within an unknown landscape brings new challenges, but also an edginess of freedom and sophistication. It is not only liberating to respond to a new place, but invigorating where unexpected collaborations can emerge. I do not have to go far to be inspired by the terraine but there is always that pull to explore the unknown, to discover new vistas. My aim is to achieve a level of abstraction, never to paint the same painting twice, every piece has its own soul, its own expressive personality. It can be as simple as the colour pallet or a specific mark that reconnects them to a place.
